Privacy policy

The app collects nothing

Kodetank Pulse itself sends no data anywhere. It reads system counters through public macOS APIs and keeps everything on your Mac — no account, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no network calls. This policy therefore only covers the website you are reading now.

Who is responsible

Kodetank AS (org. no. 922 973 075), Moss, Norway, is the data controller for this website. Privacy questions go to kontakt@kodetank.no.

Downloads

Downloading the .dmg requires no account and no form. The file is served from this site; the web server writes ordinary access logs (IP address, time, requested file, browser) which are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site securely (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Tag Manager) to see which pages people read and whether they find the download. The statistics are never used for advertising or profiling. Analytics does not start until you accept it in the banner at the bottom of the page.

• Without consent: no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics only receives anonymous, cookieless signals (Consent Mode) that cannot be linked to you.
• With consent: Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* (lifetime up to 2 years) to tell visits apart. We record page views, outbound link clicks, scrolling and file downloads.
• Your choice is stored locally in your browser ("pulse_consent") for up to twelve months. Change it any time via "Cookies" at the bottom of the page.
• Data in Google Analytics is retained for 14 months. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4.
• The processor is Google Ireland Limited. Google may transfer data to the US under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its standard contractual clauses.
• The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act).

No third-party content

This site loads no social media widgets, chat services, advertising networks or embedded videos. Fonts are served from this domain. Links to kodetank.no and other Kodetank products lead to sites with their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can ask for access to the data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact kontakt@kodetank.no. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).

We update this policy when the processing changes. The date above shows the current version.
