Under the hood
Native APIs. No root. No telemetry.
Pulse reads the same kernel and IOKit counters Activity Monitor uses — no helper daemons, no shell commands, nothing leaves your Mac. Sampling runs on a background actor and costs well under half a percent of one core.

Is Kodetank Pulse free?+
Yes. Download the .dmg, drag the app to Applications and you are done. No account, no subscription, no telemetry.
Which Macs are supported?+
Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The app is a universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel. GPU statistics are most detailed on Apple Silicon.
Is the app signed and notarized?+
Yes. Kodetank Pulse is signed with the Apple Developer ID of Kodetank AS and notarized by Apple. On first launch macOS only asks you to confirm that you want to open an app downloaded from the internet.
Does it need administrator rights?+
No. Everything is read through public macOS APIs (Mach, IOKit, Foundation) that are available to regular apps without root.
How much CPU does the app itself use?+
About 3 % of one core at the 1 s interval on a 120 Hz display, and around 1 % at 3 s. Sampling itself is well under 0.5 %; the rest is drawing.
Why is there no per-core GPU view?+
macOS does not expose per-core GPU load to third-party apps. Pulse shows aggregate device, renderer and tiler utilization plus a 30-second history instead.
